building a pool - What to Expect

There are specific phases of building a pool: excavation, rebar, gunite, coping & tile, decking and plaster. Inter mingled with these phases the plumbing, electrical and equipment installation is done. Depending on weather and time of season, Acclaim Pools takes roughly ten weeks to build a pool from the day of excavation. Immediately upon plaster application the pool is filled with water. Allowing time for the plaster to cure under water and for the water chemistry to be balanced, you can swim in your new pool typically within ten days.

Things to Consider

When deciding which type of pool builder to use consider several factors:

• Is your home a custom home?
• How long do you plan to be in your current home?
• What is your budget for a pool or backyard design?
• Do you want unique features in your pool?
• Do you want a pool that is designed to compliment the architecture of your home?

 

 

Who to Choose?

There are two basic groups of pool builders: production and custom builders. The major difference between production and custom pool builders is quality of construction. Production builders may build a pool more quickly but it is often at the expense of quality. Custom pool builders are generally more methodical in their construction, use a higher grade of materials, and engage the services of highly skilled craftsmen. Their goal is not to see how quickly they can build a pool, but to build a pool you'll be proud to own.
